Hello and welcome! My name is Olivia and my goal with Granola Girl Beauty & Wellness is to help people feel beautiful inside and out with a whole body health approach, that means mind, body and soul. I am a wife, mother, licensed esthetician, lover of health and beauty, obsess-er of reading and writing, mostly-crunchy granola girl and altogether imperfect person.
I had the idea for this blog when I realized just how fully our skin is impacted by ourselves as a whole: how we nourish our bodies, how our mind nourishes our soul, how what we put on our skin can impact our gut health and beyond. I’m a licensed esthetician in California, and in the esthetics world a lot of us really do focus on wellness a lot. However, we are also always looking for a topical fix: a life changing peel, a non-poor-clogging moisturizer, a serum that will cure our acne. But after working with various clients and dealing with my own acne, gut, hormone, anxiety and mindset issues I see just how deep everything goes and how everything is connected. I mean, our skin is our largest organ, it makes sense that it’s connected to our other organs and our other internal systems and should be cared for with something more complex than just the perfect serum and moisturizer duo (though don’t get me wrong, those are important).
In my blog you’ll find posts on topics anywhere from acne, mindset, health/wellness, etc. as well as recipes that I love and personally make for me and my family to nourish our bodies and also Granola Girl book club posts where you can find resources I’ve personally read and thought had important information.
As I said before, I’m not a perfect person; sometimes my opinions might change or I might contradict myself sometimes but I personally think that’s a part of growing and learning. My personal goal is to always be honest and transparent with the information and voice I put out on my blog. So with full transparency, I’m also a private person and you won’t find a lot of personal details about me here. I believe I can still help people and create a community without putting my life, heart and soul online.
I’m so excited you’re here and you’ve found me in some corner of the internet! (it was Pinterest, wasn’t it?) I believe we can all thrive and feel our best inside and out, mind, body and spirit, if we take care ourselves the best we can. I’m thrilled to be on this journey with you!
Also, A public service announcement: I’m not a technology savvy girlie. I’m in a huge learning curve trying to set up my site so please be patient with me! Thank you so much!
